We will present some results on robotic assisted needle probe placement under image guidance. The probes can be biopsy needles, RF needles, radioactive seed deployment needles, etc. The focus of this seminar will be on computed tomography (CT) guided interventions and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guided interventions. We will present robotic approaches to perform CT guided radio frequency ablations and MRI guided prostate brachytherapy.
The results will show that the robotic IGI's are feasible and may provide more accurate probe placement as compared to the manual approaches.
