Have you ever had one of those moments when people just don’t get what you are trying to say or even worse, they perceive something entirely differently than what you meant? Imagine trying to communicate with a roomful of angry and concerned community members and your job is to help address their fears. Dr. Terry Flynn is one of Canada’s leading public relations/communications management scholars, whose research and counsel on crisis communications, risk communications and public engagement has been used by such organizations as Maple Leaf Foods, the Town of Walkerton, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Association. Dr. Flynn will share with us his thoughts and insights on how to prepare for difficult and sometimes risky communications.
