McMaster University Chemical Engineering Conference (MUCEC)

MUCEC, formerly called Graduate Student Seminar Day, is an annual tradition in the Department of Chemical Engineering at McMaster University. This event provides a forum for graduate students to display their research work to the entire department.

Each year we invite a distinguished graduate alumnus as our Keynote Speaker. Graduate students will give informative talks covering most of the research areas in the McMaster Chemical Engineering Department. This is an excellent opportunity for sharing ideas and creating a good impression with your peers, faculty and industrial representatives. For Ph.D. students, participation in the speaker session precludes you from having to give a departmental (one hour) seminar. These students also compete for the A.E. Hamielic Award ($1000).

In addition to the oral presentations, many of the graduate students exhibit their work in a poster session. Departmental awards are given for this poster session.

MUCEC will take place during April, 2012.

We will be accepting abstract submissions for Oral and Poster presentations from Chemical Engineering students. Please stay tuned for more information.

Deadlines:

February 2012: Short Abstracts Due (500 words or less)
These are required for anyone wishing to present, posters included

March 2012: Long Abstracts Due (Maximum 2 pages double spaced)
